Sport in the sunshine for a change! Well, Wednesday at least… The sporting programme was back to its busy best this week, with a more spring like feel to the weather. The girls had a varied week, with netball tournaments and festivals and multiple opponents. The senior girls travelled to Hazelwood for their tournament, with the first VII performing brilliantly and coming away with the win. The U11s hosted Caterham, which saw our home courts buzzing with movement and some competitive matches throughout. The boys had a rugby block against St Christophers again, with some excellent end to end rugby and tries galore. St Christophers just shading the win count, but lots of progression apparent as we near the end of the rugby term. Thursday was all about festival action for the juniors. Our hardworking girl games staff put on a packed round-robin schedule of netball, hosting Ardingly and Brambletye girls. Festivals are not about results, the main aims being development and enjoyment and from the smiles and laughter there was plenty of that! The boys travelled to Great Walstead to face the hosts and Cumnor House, in a feast of contact and tag-rugby festival action. Again, the fun focused learning was clearly evident there. As I write, we are preparing to head off to Ardingly for their mixed cross country relays with our year 7 (and some of our talented year 6 girls running up) and year 8 girls and boys this afternoon.
